Our Story

Mitch has always had a passion for cooking. In high school he wanted to be a chef on a cruise ship. True high school sweethearts finding and marrying Bec changed that plan as she was more into setting a table than setting sail.

Their first love for this industry was found planning their own Wedding together in 2010.

Bec found her passion for weddings and hospitality, coordinating at kooroomba Vineyard and lavender farm. 

While Mitch finished his apprenticeship and gained more catering experience.

The happy couple opened Austin House Restaurant together in Boonah.

When the tough decision through Covid was too close, they reinvented themselves as a mobile catering company called Mitch and Becs catering service, catering for private and corporate events.

They have three beautiful children who are already showing interest in the family business.

Becs passion grew into helping brides, young and old, fulfill their dreams with styling and event hire. This grew beyond expectations quickly and their family business expanded once again bringing on board Becs mum Sharon as a partner of SR event hire.

This new combination of offering catering and event hire has brought them to Creating Occasions. They can’t wait to make your event spectacular from picnics to parties, engagements to weddings with their industry passionate team they can’t wait to make your special event memorable.
